Atelier Marchesi · Milano
The country house,
room by room.
Italian country interiors, drawn by hand in Milan and finished by the craftsmen who still know how. Come in and walk through one of ours.
Where the day slows down
Low light,
long evenings.
Deep sofas in washed linen, a walnut chest worn smooth by hands, and lime-plastered walls that turn gold at the end of the afternoon.
Under the old beams
Shutters open
to the cypresses.
Chestnut beams left as the builders found them, plaster that stays cool in August, and nothing on the walls that would compete with the view.
The heart of the house
Made for long
Sunday lunches.
Walnut dressers built to the room, a range that can feed the whole family, and handmade tiles from a kiln outside Vietri.
Stone, water and light
A bath beneath
the morning sky.
Stone laid by hand, a deep tub you can sink into to the shoulders, and a roof light that lets the morning in before anyone is awake.
